Plot summary
In an alternate America, black people form the privileged majority and white people the impoverished minority. Louis Pinnock works at a chocolate factory and is a husband and a father of two. Wanting to improve his position, he offers to deliver a package to Thaddeus Thomas, a black chief executive, after his shift. At the Thomas residence he accidentally views Thomas's wife through a window, and Thomas complains to the factory's vice-president about a peeping Tom. The vice-president fires Pinnock, whose apologies to Thomas are dismissed.
