Plot summary
John Taylor is a lawyer in line for a major case, and his wife Laura holds a job that keeps her traveling. They want a child, and several miscarriages have left them without one. Anna Walsh, a young woman, agrees to act as a gestational surrogate, and Laura chooses her. The Taylors get to know Anna and ask her and her boyfriend, Mike Mitchell, to dinner at their home. Mike attacks Anna, and the police arrest him; she has no place to stay. John invites her into their house, where she joins Laura for yoga, reads self-help books, and her fixation on him grows.
