Plot summary

Mr. Bush is named justice of the peace, and his first weddings take place on Christmas Eve, before his appointment begins in January. When one couple files for divorce, the other five are told their marriages were never legal. Steve and Ramona Gladwyn play a devoted couple on their radio show but privately dislike each other and both want to keep the salary. Annabel Norris has just won Mrs. Mississippi, leaving her husband Jeff to care for their child while her manager Duffy prepares her for the Mrs. America contest. Hector and Katie Woodruff, once constant talkers, have nothing left to say. Freddie Melrose, a kind millionaire, is married to a young woman named Eve. Soldier Willie Fisher is bound for Hawaii, and his wife Patsy gets to the station in time to tell him she is pregnant.
