Plot summary

Missy Moreno and her father, Marcus, are at home when word comes that the Heroics need help. She goes with him and meets the other heroes' children, among them Wheels, whose bones cannot hold up his heavy strength, Noodles, able to stretch, Ojo, who does not speak and puts her messages into drawings, and A Capella, who sings to move objects around her. Slo-Mo lives inside a time warp, Facemaker can take on any face, Rewind and Fast Forward are twins who bend time, Wild Card's powers refuse his control, and Guppy has the strength of a shark and shapes water. The children watch on television as the aliens overcome the Heroics and carry them off.
