Plot summary
Julia and Francis, an American couple, move to Bucharest. In their new apartment, Julia sees a man in the building opposite who watches her every day. She learns that a serial killer called the Spider has been killing young women in the city. When she senses someone following her to a theater and a supermarket, she reviews security footage with Francis, but it is inconclusive. She becomes friends with neighbor Irina, who shows her a gun she keeps for safety. One night, she waves at the man to test him, and he waves back. She calls the police, but Francis thinks she is overreacting.
