Plot summary
At thirteen, Celeste is a student at a school in New Brighton, Staten Island, when a boy opens fire there and she becomes one of the few survivors. While she recovers from her injuries she begins writing music with her older sister Eleanor, and at a memorial event led by Father Cliff she performs a song of theirs, Wrapped Up. It becomes a hit, a manager signs her, and by April 2000 she is in New York City recording an EP. Her songs reach radio stations and demand grows for a first music video, while nights out with Eleanor cut into her time in the studio.
