Plot summary
Jill is an aspiring baker in San Francisco, working under the demanding Chef Bastien. Her sister Isabelle, who has cystic fibrosis, lives back home in Austin and hears about Jill's life over the phone. After Isabelle dies, Jill keeps calling her number and leaves voicemails about her dates with her co-worker Arthur and with Tyler, a dating podcaster, and about her ambition to become a baker. She does not know the number has been reassigned to Wes, a real estate agent in Austin, who becomes invested in a woman he has never met. His engaged friends Andy and Breeda advise him against pursuing her.
