Plot summary
Yas comes across Dom weeping in a gender-neutral toilet at an exhibition devoted to mouths that their mutual friend Nathan has put on in South London. Both are nursing fresh breakups: Dom has moved back in with his parents after Gia, the girlfriend he had for six years, was unfaithful with his closest friend Eric, and Yas has split with Jules. The strangers drift into each other's company and wander through Rye Lane Market, trading stories of relationships that failed. When Dom agrees to a restaurant meeting with Gia and Eric, the first time he has seen them since the split, Yas tags along and pretends to be his girlfriend, claiming karaoke is how they met. Over lunch at a tortilla shop, Yas says she left a record at Jules's flat and Dom offers to help take it back.
