Plot summary
A bitter Santa Claus, worn down by centuries of enabling mankind's greed, plans to retire after this year's deliveries. In Greenwich, Connecticut, Jason Lightstone and his estranged wife Linda bring their ten-year-old daughter Trudy to his mother Gertrude's mansion for Christmas. Trudy's aunt Alva is there with Alva's boyfriend Morgan Steel and her son Bertrude. With an old walkie-talkie from Jason, Trudy wishes for family unity, believing it lets her speak to Santa. Santa reaches the estate just as mercenaries with holiday codenames, commanded by Mr. Scrooge, storm the house, shoot the security detail and hold the family captive. Their target is $300 million locked in a vault. Santa fights one of them, and the gunfire drives his reindeer off the roof, stranding him. He sets out to free Trudy and the others.
