Plot summary
Sporks, a town in the Pacific Northwest, is where Becca Crane arrives to live with her father Frank, the sheriff. At the high school she befriends other students and is puzzled by Edward Sullen, a mysterious classmate whose odd behavior in their biology class draws her attention. A killing spree in the area is blamed on Canadians. When a van nearly runs Becca down in the school parking lot, Edward stops it. She confronts him and mistakes him for a member of the Jonas Brothers; he corrects her and says he is a vampire who drinks only animal blood. She agrees to go with him to the prom, while her friends deal with romantic troubles of their own.

- Film critic Mark Kermode, reviewing the film on his Radio 5 show, said the Twilight franchise was no longer fit for parody: not only had the ship sailed, it had crossed the Atlantic, hit an iceberg, sunk, been dragged up and turned into the biggest movie hit ever.
- Spill.com, whose video reviews were usually around five minutes long and censored, ran a twenty-second review consisting of Korey Coleman staring blankly into the camera before uttering an uncensored obscenity, the lowest rating the website gave.
- Peter Travers of Rolling Stone gave the film zero out of four stars and wrote a four-word review, which simply stated: “This movie sucks more.”
- Vampires Suck was given four nominations from the Golden Raspberry Awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay and Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel.
- Despite the overwhelming negativity, newcomer Jenn Proske's mimicry of Kristen Stewart drew praise; Steve Persall of the Tampa Bay Times wrote that she had Stewart's mumbling, hair-twisting, lip-biting tics down pat.
