Plot summary
David and Amy Fox are driving home from a family party when traffic diverts them onto a remote mountain road. Their car starts making a noise, and a mechanic at an old repair garage looks at it but says he is closing. The car breaks down soon after, and with no cell phone reception the couple walks back, finds the garage shut, and takes a room at a nearby motel for the night. The manager, Mason, tells them the garage is closed until morning. Loud banging comes at their door and the door to the next room, though Mason says they are his only guests. A tape in the room's VCR looks like a horror film until the couple recognizes their own room in it.
