Plot summary
Verena has rented a villa in San Fabiano, in Tuscany, for a holiday with her family, and Anna, an old friend from school, joins them there. Anna had planned to travel with her boyfriend, Alex, and tells Verena that he had to remain in London at the last minute because of work. The adults are Verena, her new husband Charlie, and her cousin George. The teenagers are Jack and Badge, Verena's children, Archie, Charlie's son, and Oakley, George's son. Anna, unhappy in her relationship, spends more and more of her time with the young people, and the shift upsets Verena.
