Plot summary
Norman and his sister Anna are grieving their mother Gabriella when they find out she adopted them and that their birth mother lived in Two Heads Creek, a small town in remote Australia. They leave Britain and arrive to find that Mary owned every business in the area. Hans, one of the residents, wants the siblings gone and tells them Mary died years ago. Pressed, he says she died a day earlier and that the funeral is the next day. That night someone stabs Norman, and another resident, Daisy, says the attack came from a belief that Norman's birth brought a plague that killed the town's pigs. The twins also hear that their mother sent them away, afraid the townspeople would take revenge.
