Plot summary
Ricardo Chavez, released from a California prison for counterfeiting, works on Judge Amos Wiggins's sheep ranch in Morongo County, where the judge employs parolees. Ricardo has told his sister Lola in Cuba that the ranch belongs to him, and he learns she is coming to visit. Before she arrives, Mason and Blake grab Ricardo for their boss Matt Brunner, who runs a Morongo Valley hunting lodge as a front for printing counterfeit gold certificates. Brunner needs an engraver and threatens Lola if Ricardo refuses. Roy Rogers, Ricardo's parole officer, arrives in the Sierra country; the sheriff is away, so he depends on the sheriff's daughter Pat Callahan, a deputy.
