Plot summary
Tom Eliot is an American poet. In 1915 he marries the socialite Vivienne Haigh-Wood after a brief courtship, and she becomes his first wife. Her gynecological troubles and her emotional troubles put a strain on the marriage. So does his growing fame as a poet. Rose Haigh-Wood, Maurice Haigh-Wood, Charles Haigh-Wood, Bertrand Russell and Edith Sitwell are among the other people in the story.
