Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Tideland (2005)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Casting Jeliza-Rose was difficult: roughly 400 Canadian girls auditioned for the role, none of whom Gilliam felt had "a real soul" for the character, until a VHS tape submitted from Vancouver featured Jodelle Ferland, whom Gilliam agreed was perfect for the part.
- Production designer Jasna Stefanovic based the film's look on the paintings of Andrew Wyeth and on Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and despite scenes depicting taxidermy and a trapped live squirrel, no animals were actually harmed while making the film.
