Plot summary
Nyura lives in a village with her husband Grisha and their two children. She comes to Moscow to sell home-made ham, and her errand leads her to the flat of her husband's sister Ninka, who lives near the cafe Three Poplars on Plyushchikha Street. The first person she meets in the city is Sasha, a taxi driver who is meant to drive her to that address. Their meeting is a chance one, and no date follows it, yet the hours they pass together, with Sasha at the wheel of his Volga, are enough for Nyura to look at her own life afresh.
