Plot summary
Annieville, South Carolina, braces for Category 5 hurricane Henry. Dakota is unable to evacuate because agoraphobia keeps her inside her recently deceased mother's house. Lisa, who is heavily pregnant, is caught in town with no time left. Outside town, siblings Dee, Ron and Will take shelter with Billy and Rachel, their unprepared foster parents. The storm surge destroys the sea wall and floods the streets. A tanker truck carrying animal blood is broken open, and the blood draws sharks into the flooded downtown. Dakota spots Lisa trapped in a car and pulls her free, taking her home. Dakota's uncle Dale, a marine researcher, recruits a visiting television news crew to reach Annieville and get Dakota out, and their route by road is blocked, so they travel by boat.
