Plot summary
Martin Bonner has left Maryland for Nevada, moving away from two adult children and a life he built over more than twenty years. In Reno he takes a job as volunteer coordinator at a non-profit that works with people leaving prison. It is his first work in two years, and he has recently gone bankrupt. Travis Holloway, a prisoner in the same program, is released after twelve years with nothing to return to, and Reno proves difficult for him as well, even with his sponsor Steve Helms at his side. The two men meet and discover they have a good deal in common.
