Plot summary
Buddy Calamara works as a valet at a high-society restaurant, and he watches Mickey and Ray Davis for Scott Muller, who robs their home. One of the things Scott takes is a diary of Mickey's. Reading it, he finds that she, an interior designer, longs for a more interesting life, and the pages hold her fantasies and dreams. He plans to turn them into reality. Mickey's husband Ray, who writes children's books, is absorbed in his work and leaves her needs aside. Scott poses as the head of a school supply company who needs someone to redesign his apartment, and the two begin an affair.
