Plot summary
Asia Reaves and her sister Maria try to get away from their abusive father. He finds them at a convenience store. Asia shoots him, is arrested, and Maria stays in his custody. Ten years on, Asia comes to the Virgil, an exclusive New York City high-rise, hired as its new maid under false pretenses. The building manager, Lily Woodhouse, tells her the Virgil is a hundred years old and belongs to the wealthy and elite. While Asia sleeps, masked intruders, among them residents Kevin and Sharon, break into her room and attack her.
