Plot summary
Kevin Stanwell and Suzie Stone have been apart for two months. Kevin wants a romantic weekend to bring them back together, and he drives her to her father's lake house in Wapanoga, a town she has steered clear of for more than twenty years because of painful memories. Without telling her, he has arranged for his friend Ernie Guerra to stage a break-in that Kevin will interrupt. Suzie would rather go drinking in town than stay in the house, and the weak phone signal there stops Kevin from reaching Ernie. At the bar Suzie meets Heather, once her closest friend and now the town's police chief.
