Plot summary

Amy is on the run with Adrian, the boy she adopted, hiding from Judith, her abusive ex-girlfriend. Desperate to stay out of sight, she takes Adrian to the abandoned farmhouse her family left behind outside her Kansas hometown. Judith is vengeful and keeps hunting them. The house is not the shelter Amy hoped for: a supernatural force that reaches back into Amy's dark past turns its attention on Adrian. Amy is caught between the threat coming at them from outside and the one that waits within the walls, and she has to hold both off to keep the boy safe.
