Plot summary
Makani Young, a senior who moved from Hawaii, is finishing high school in the small Nebraska town of Osborne while living with her grandmother. With graduation approaching, classmates at Osborne High are being targeted by a killer who wears a life-like mask of each victim's own face and who spreads their secrets throughout the town. Makani's friends Alex, Darby and Rodrigo are among the students caught up in what follows, and Caleb is shunned by the school until their group makes room for him at lunch. Makani has a past of her own as well, and she and her friends set out to learn who is behind the attacks before anyone else is hurt.
