Plot summary
Dawn, an aspiring artist in a small Texas town, lives with her two sisters and their grandmother Birdie, who raised them after they were orphaned. An art school in Paris, France, has accepted her, but she lacks the funds for both years. Her sister Emily is a devoted viewer of the dating reality show The Honeypot and talks her into auditioning, since the fee paid to contestants would help pay for her studies. Dawn is cast for a season said to take place in Paris; the contestants only learn on landing that the location is a ranch in Paris, Texas. She asks to be removed, but producer Rachel points out that her contract pays nothing if she quits, so Dawn intends to be eliminated at the first barbecue. The bachelor, Trey, is the cowboy she met at home.
