Plot summary
Eve Wilde, a celebrated actress who has already married three times, is preparing for a fourth wedding. After a whirlwind courtship she is set to marry Harold Alcott, a well-known English writer, and the occasion brings friends and family to her estate for a weekend together. Laurence Darling, the actor who was her first husband, is among those who come, along with the children and grandchildren he and Eve share. On Harold's side of the gathering are his two daughters and a friend they have known for years. With both families and their guests under one roof, romance and sexual tension begin to spread among them.
