Plot summary
Mike Lassiter, seventeen, is charged with murdering his father Boone, a wealthy lawyer. Richard Ramsay, a defense attorney and a professional friend of Boone, works the case, and Boone's widow Loretta asks him to keep her son out of prison. Mike says nothing, which leaves Ramsay little to work with, so he brings in Janelle Brady, a young lawyer who has left a corporate practice, as his associate.
