Plot summary
On a snowy night, Paige and Leo Collins drive home from a movie. At a stop sign, Paige leans over to kiss her husband. A truck hits their car, and Paige wakes from a coma with the last five years of her memory gone. She does not recognize Leo or their marriage, though she still remembers wanting to be an artist and cannot say why she left law school. Her parents, Bill and Rita Thornton, arrive at the hospital and meet Leo for the first time, and they and Leo disagree about where Paige should recover. Paige goes home with Leo rather than with her parents.
