Plot summary
Martha, tired of her job at a Minneapolis car rental desk, spends her last paycheck on a ticket to London, the cheapest international destination she can find. At the airport she meets Daniel, a music label executive, who arranges an upgrade and a seat next to his; when she sells the ticket on to someone else he is left beside a loud stranger, so he returns to Economy and takes the empty seat next to her. Before landing he offers her a luxury hotel suite at his company's expense in return for lunch the next day. Laurence, a former bridge champion who now gives bridge lessons to wealthy women, goes to the airport to meet Daniel, misses him, and is hit by Martha's luggage cart. Frank, a struggling actor, hears of her from Daniel.
