Plot summary
Neal Kumar heads Virtually You, a technology company in Silicon Valley. He unveils Augur, the firm's newest technology, which centers on the connection between people. He lives with his wife, Roopa, their daughters, Maya and Monica, and the housekeeper, Didi, in an affluent life that looks ideal from the outside. Maya, a college-age young woman, dies by suicide, and the family is devastated and cannot understand the cause. The fractured nature of Neal's inner life becomes apparent to him and to those around him. Neal is left with unanswered questions about his daughter and sets out to find the truth, a search that grows increasingly frantic.
