Roberta Collins
Biography
Roberta Collins was an American film and television actress who built a career in exploitation pictures, often cast for her blonde curls and Monroe-like looks. She was signed to a studio contract soon after finishing high school, but the option lapsed, and a second studio did the same, which pushed her to study acting seriously. Her appearance in The Big Doll House led to a run of exploitation roles, among them Clara, a prostitute, in Tobe Hooper's Eaten Alive (1976) and Matilda the Hun in Death Race 2000 (1975). She also took non-exploitation parts, notably playing Jean Harlow in the 1975 musical Train Ride to Hollywood, and worked in television. In 1969 she was named queen of the Warner Bros-Seven Arts International Film Festival. She later said she hoped to move past her B-movie-queen reputation and play a mainstream role. She died in 2008.
