Plot summary
Ratings are falling at Abby Richter's Sacramento morning show, so the station brings in Mike Chadway, whose local segments argue that men and women want very different things. Abby, who believes in true love and keeps a checklist for the man she is looking for, thinks he is crass; he thinks she is naive. She once called in to his show to argue with him on air. When Colin, an orthopedic surgeon living across from her, fits that checklist, Mike offers a deal: he will coach her on how to attract Colin, and if it works she will stop fighting him at work, while if he fails he leaves the show.
