Plot summary
Unsolved robberies and a murder occupy Superintendent Cooper Smith of Scotland Yard. The information gathered in the case brings him to the country manor of the Emberdays, a wealthy English family. Livia Emberday is the mistress of the house. Trudy Emberday and Luke Emberday are members of the family. The family does not have the mansion to itself, because an order of nuns lives there, with a superior set over the sisters.
