Plot summary
Noble Adams scouted for the US Army in the Indian Wars, then resigned and bought a farm for his wife Lottie and their two-year-old son Tom. Lottie died in an accident on the journey. Tom was educated on the East Coast and studied law. Now Noble's old friend Lane Crawford asks his help in pursuing John Stillwell, who escaped from the Yuma penitentiary. Stillwell's band kills several people and carries off two captives, Inez and twelve-year-old Mary Bolton.
