Jeff Celentano
Biography
Jeff Celentano is an actor, writer, and director from New Jersey. Raised in Pemberton, he moved to New York at 21 and studied with Stella Adler and later with Sanford Meisner at The Neighborhood Playhouse. Using the stage name Weston, he appeared on television series from Magnum, P.I. to Dynasty and in twenty features, including Robert Altman's The Player (1992) and The New Age (1994). While making The Player he became drawn to directing. He co-directed and produced the play Soweto's Burning, which earned the Los Angeles Times Pick of the Weekend five weeks running. His short Dickwad (1994) won comedy awards at the Houston and Philadelphia film festivals. He formed Periscope Pictures, whose first feature was Under the Hula Moon (1995), and he directed Gunshy (1998), which brought him Best Director at the Atlantic City International Film Festival, and Say It in Russian (2007). He also wrapped Breaking Point (2009) and taught acting at The Performer's Academy.
