The Thingy: Confessions of a Teenage Placenta (2013) on Netflix

Plot summary

Marianne's child is born dead, but life passes into the afterbirth, and she decides to raise the placenta as a human being, a young man named Luke. Marianne brings him up as a Christian and hopes he will become a soldier. Behind his monstrous exterior, Luke is intelligent, faithful and sensitive, and he wants a place in a world of drunks, junkies, prostitutes and bodybuilders. That world treats him as a freak. As a hostile society pushes him toward the edge, Luke must decide whether to keep his gentle ideals or become the merciless soldier his mother wanted him to be.
