Plot summary
The living deceased have made a small community for themselves in Los Angeles, and John Solomon, a documentary filmmaker, recruits a colleague to investigate it. Solomon is convinced the zombies are dangerous and wants to expose them, while she takes a more sympathetic view. The zombies divide into three categories. The feral ones exhibit no sentience. Low-functioning ones can work simple menial jobs, such as in sweatshops. High-functioning ones can pass as human, though they do not keep their memories or their personalities. The zombies the crew meets are open and welcoming.
