Plot summary

At Swan Lake Castle, Princess Odette and Prince Derek are celebrating their first wedding anniversary. Clavius, a wicked magician, wants the magical orb that holds the source of the Forbidden Arts, and he believes the orb is hidden somewhere in the castle. He was once Rothbart's partner in the Forbidden Arts until Rothbart betrayed him and drove him underground. Clavius sends his minion Knuckles to commit vandalism across the kingdom, keeping Derek busy and causing him to neglect his wife and his mother, Queen Uberta. On Uberta's fiftieth birthday, Clavius abducts her to use as leverage. Sir Chamberlain sends Derek a letter with the news, and Derek sets out to rescue his mother.
