George Chiang

George Chiang, a Canadian, has built a career as an actor, writer, composer and producer. His best known creation is Golden Lotus, a musical that he also turned into a film, and he has written several children's books. On stage he has performed at theaters throughout Canada, earning critical praise for his work in The Dance and the Railroad, a play by David Henry Hwang staged at the Tarragon Theatre, as well as for Serpent Kills and for Urban Donnelleys, which he co-created. He played Kralaholme in The King and I at the Huron Country Playhouse. During two seasons at the Stratford Festival, he appeared in Othello and Twelfth Night. He was the first to play Zhu Xu in the premiere of Salesman in China, a role that brought him critical acclaim. His screen work includes Eloise at the Plaza (2003) and McKenna Shoots for the Stars (2012), plus television roles on Mary Kills People and Dark Matter.
