Plot summary
In Torrance, Joe Connolly and Michael Hubbs are determined that Saturday night will not be another aimless drive. They run into Tack, who knows where two women are staying, across from the Frankie Avalon house, and he offers to show them the spot in return for a ride. At a gas station, Crump says the two women are girlfriends of his brother, so Joe and Hubbs make up a party elsewhere to draw him off. They leave Tack behind and drive to Torrance Beach, where Lanie meets them at the house and sends them out for alcohol. Jill, the homeowner's daughter, is also at the house.

- The Stoned Age was conceived with Led Zeppelin as Joe's favorite band, with "Trampled Underfoot" set as the main title song and "Tangerine" as what the script called the "pussy" song. When Led Zeppelin's music proved unavailable, Yes, Jethro Tull, The Who, The Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd were considered before Blue Öyster Cult.
- Director James Melkonian blames the low budget for the film's visible mistakes: crew members' faces are reflected in a microwave during the kitchen scene, Blue Öyster Cult's "Burnin' for You" (1981) is heard in the 1980-set story, and a sign for the crafts store Michaels, a chain that did not exist until 1984, is clearly visible.
