Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Frank Sabatella, then an aspiring filmmaker, was impressed in 2002 by Jason Rice's short story about a vampire in a shed; he only circled back to the idea after his own directorial debut, Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet, and asked Rice's permission to use the concept.
- To make the roles believable, director Frank Sabatella cast actors the same age as their characters, and he was enough of a fan of Frank Whaley to have the producers reach out and "orchestrate" his casting.
