Plot summary
Jane leaves her daughter Molly at a summer camp for the first time and urges the reluctant girl to try new things. Driving on, she stops at a diner for coffee, and no one answers the bell. She pours a cup herself, and the place fills with customers who greet her by name and treat her as the waitress on duty. She takes the apron that carries her name and goes. Outside, two men want something from her that she cannot name.
