Plot summary
Noelle and Addie look at an apartment on Manhattan's Upper East Side. It has odd touches, among them furniture left behind and a realtor who seems off, but the two take it. On their first night, Noelle turns up a tarot card called The Sun, the only card in the deck that shows naked children, and Addie's sleep fills with nightmares. A girl turns up at the door, someone the roommates had already noticed peering in from the sidewalk. She first pretends to be a realtor, then says her purpose is to look into the sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. She believes the apartment once belonged to him and that crimes such as child prostitution and murder may have happened inside it. Noelle and the girl start digging into conspiracy theories about Epstein's death and the activities attributed to him.
