Plot summary

A decade after the first Sandlot summer, a new group of kids plays baseball in the San Fernando Valley. David Durango leads the team: Tarquell, Mac, Saul and Saul's deaf younger brother Sammy, called Fingers. Johnnie Smalls, whose older brother Scott once played there, tells them the legend of The Great Fear, a ferocious dog kept by Mr. Mertle behind a wall of assorted junk. Hayley Goodfairer and her friends Jenny and Penny want a share of the Sandlot, and the boys want them gone until Johnnie suggests sharing it. The girls are strong players, so David makes them a deal to join the team. A little league squad led by David's rival Singleton plays them for the field. A model Space Shuttle built by Hayley's NASA engineer father lands in Mr. Mertle's yard after Johnnie sets it off.
