Plot summary
Sarah Bishop is a high school senior in New Jersey, still grieving her mother, and her father John is a pastor. She attends a support group, and on Christmas Eve she asks permission to go to a party. At a gas station that night she meets gang member Ram Kady and hears a man screaming from the trunk of his car. She runs; her car goes off the road and into a lake. Detective Jed Sawyer, who lost his pregnant wife to a killer years earlier, takes the case and reviews the gas station footage. Sarah's father wants answers about what happened to her.
