Plot summary
Edvard has been crowned King of Denmark, and his American fiancée, Paige Morgan, has moved to Denmark for medical school so they can be near his family. They have been engaged for two years and are weeks away from their wedding. Then an old law comes to light: a Danish king must marry a princess, or he must give up the crown. Princess Kirsten of Norway, a childhood friend of Edvard's, arrives for a visit. Kirsten wants the Danish crown, and her father, a Norwegian royal who owes a great deal of money, wants her married into the family's wealth. Paige is not of noble blood.
