Plot summary
Steve Glew lives in DeWitt, Michigan, and needs a way to pull his family out of poverty. In the 1990s, after the Berlin Wall falls, he learns that Pez dispensers made for markets outside the United States are scarce at home, and that American collectors will pay high prices for them. He flies to Eastern Europe and visits Pez factories, buying dispensers that were never meant for the American market, then sells them to collectors back home. Standing in his way is an executive at Pez USA, nicknamed the Pezident, who decides which dispensers enter the country. Because Pez does not verify shipments through US Customs, Glew can carry his dispensers through airports.

- Steven J. Glew smuggled Pez dispensers from Eastern Europe into the United States and, according to ABC News, made $4.5 million over 11 years. Because Pez did not verify shipments through US Customs, he could carry the illegal dispensers through airports.
