Plot summary
TJ Ballantyne runs the Old Oak, a pub in a County Durham town that was once a thriving mining community. It is the one public place left where people can meet, and he works to hold onto it. When Syrian refugees are given empty houses in the town, tensions rise among residents. TJ forms a friendship with Yara, one of the refugees.
