Plot summary
The land has regenerated since the apocalypse, and the year is 2961. Cygnus lives with the Last Arc, a nomadic band of survivors who took him in even though neither he nor they know where he came from. He acts as the band's hunter, which also makes him a killer, and locating prey is difficult. Food and water are growing scarce, and a barbaric tribe of Heretics has a special interest in Cygnus. Nova, one of the band's spiritual leaders, gives him a further task: to find a sign that will give their existence and their future meaning. The answer has to be found before the Heretics descend on the band.
