Plot summary
Montgomery Dark runs the Raven's End Mortuary in a small island town. One day a young woman named Sam comes in and asks him about a small, child-sized coffin, one he has recently held a funeral for. She then admits that her real reason for coming is the Help Wanted sign outside, and he agrees to give her an interview, showing her through the facility. He tells her that he will share the stories of the people of Raven's End who have died. One takes place in the 1950s and follows Emma, who slips away from a party to check the wallets she has pickpocketed from the guests.
